MACARONI AND CHEESE

INGREDIENTS:

MACARONI WHOLE WHEAT, 2 CUPS: MUSTARD DRY, 1 TEA
SALT SEA, 1 TEA
BUTTER, 3 TBL
SHARP CHEDDAR CHEESE, 1 1/2 CUPS
BLACK PEPPER, 1/2 TEA
ALL PURPOSE FLOUR, 3 TBL
MILK, 3 CUPS
DRY BREAD CRUMBS, TOPPING
CHEESE, TOPPING

STEPS:

  • SET OVEN TO 400, AND COOK MACARONI FOR 10 MINUTES
  • SAUCE, MELT BUTTER & STIR IN FLOUR FOR A FEW MINUTES
  • MIX 1/4 CUP OF MILK AT A TIME - CONSTANT STIRRING
  • WHEN SMOOTH - TAKE OFF HEAT
  • ADD CHEESE, MUSTARD, SALT AND PEPPER
  • STIR SAUCE AND MACARONI INTO A LIGHTLY GREASED
  • SHALLOW OVEN PROOF DISH
  • TOP WITH BREAD CRUMBS AND EXTRA CHEESE
  • BAKE FOR 40 MINUTES

    TIME TO PREPARE: 70 MINUTES (SERVES 8)
    ** SUGGESTED WINE: CABERNET SAUVIGNON
